Dr. James Joseph is a proud alumnus of Texas Southern University (TSU), with a strong background in community organizing, Dr. James Joseph has been instrumental in advocating for policies that promote social and economic justice, particularly for underserved populations. Recognized for his unwavering commitment to advocacy, faith, and service, Dr. James Joseph continues to be a driving force in the fight for justice and empowerment. His leadership and dedication exemplify the spirit of perseverance, excellence, and resilience.
My passion
Raised in humble beginnings, he developed a deep passion for justice, equity, and service, which has guided his life’s work. His leadership has empowered countless individuals, ensuring their voices are heard in the fight for a more just and equitable society. Beyond his advocacy work, Dr. James Joseph is a devoted father and mentor, committed to inspiring the next generation of leaders. His passion for service extends beyond his professional role, as he also serves as an Associate Minister at Lyon Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Fifth Ward, Texas, where he provides spiritual guidance and community support.
My involvement
Currently serving as the Director of Civic Engagement and Community Outreach, he works tirelessly to mobilize residents, advocate for policy changes, and ensure equitable representation in civic processes. Dr. James Joseph is also deeply involved in addressing critical health and environmental concerns in his community. As a member of the Community Advisory Committee for the Fifth Ward/Kashmere Gardens Cancer Cluster Cresol sites, he works alongside stakeholders to advocate for environmental justice and the well-being of affected families.
